Dear Friends,
I am proud and humbled to announce my candidacy for the Tennessee State Senate in 2010. We live in a state abundant with distinction, community energy, and international resources. With your support, I will represent and protect those who have built and continue to improve our community.
Against the backdrop of a country at war, an economy distressed, healthcare and educational crises, and an epidemic mistrust of professional party politicians, I will bring the process of government, and the hope of decent choice, back again to the people.
I stand for traditional Republican values. These include conservative—anti-income tax—fiscal policies; practical approaches to business; a commitment to pro-family values; and a passion for community service. I respect the sovereignty of our state and the sanctity of individual liberty as guaranteed under our Bill of Rights. I reach out not simply to those who support this legacy, but also to those disenfranchised voters who feel there is nothing real, or genuine, to vote for. And, because of this, I am deeply antagonistic to overbearing, lumbering government—be it federal or state. I come to the democratic process, not from privilege, but from over 20 years working in Davidson County, and offer fresh energy, international experience, scientific and legal training, and compassion to our legislative process.
The 21st Senatorial District is unique and diverse. Over the year, I intend to address issues involving people from differing backgrounds, views, and cultures. My focus will, however, be on inclusive government that promotes diverse, not divisive, opinions. I am good at bringing people together, and through this we can reach much higher standards for Tennessee. It is a new world, with limitless opportunities.
State Senate races are costly. Stand up for Tennessee and our community by offering your financial support. Otherwise, we risk losing the opportunity to change 'politics as usual,' which is no longer doing much for us. NOW is a critical time to DONATE.
